take you

let me take you to a place where theres space and we feel safe,

let me take you to a place where there will be no judgement,

no print, no ink, no stories or hearsay,

because after all why should we care what they ‘might’ say,

let me take you to a place,

where the silky green grass is new,

some fresh eyes on a new life and a new place to go,

let me take you to a place where the ice-cream drips don’t matter,

and you could chuck the whole lot,

to the ground and make a splatter,

let me put you at ease,

and take you back, take off the years,

before we get even older and forget what it means,

not worry about a temperature in a fever,

run from the tears to come the threats to face,

our times not over yet,

let me take you to a place where I’ve seen the sand smooth like new born baby’s cheek , off the side of deprived city that weeps,

where the shops stay open late nights to cope,

let me take you to that place,

let me take you to the place where we are safe,

where words don’t hurt,

where birds don’t fly and watch the sky, where feet don’t sink,

and rooms don’t stink, where people are kind and they don’t mind,

where things are free just you and me,

where things are safe a place to be,

let me take you…. to … that… place.
