Care

I don’t know why I expected you to care

It’s not like it happened to you

It’s not like I have had your baby

And carried on alone without your help

People reject the facts

The facts that you avoid

And I’m bullied

Constantly bullied

By people I thought cared

Why did I expect you to care?

Is what I ask myself.

You don’t care

And that is an issue

For if you cared

Your love would be greater and you’d want to help heal me

Not bruise me further.

If I ended it

Would you love me from the shadows

That you’ve been lurking in

I see your blame

Your torture

I had a choice

I chose her over myself

That’s what mothers do.
