JBarrington gig

You said

You nearly kissed me

At the JB gig.

You asked if I was curious

Just a little bit?

I noticed you seemed different

I wasn’t sure if you was looking at me or someone else?

I promised to you

I would always keep my word

I realised my poems you never really heard,

You didn’t even care?

You said you nearly kissed me

At the JB gig.

When I went to stand and do the ticket bit,

And I said if you drink anymore then I won’t get in your car.

I say if you say anymore then I won’t cope anymore,

I stood by the door as you walked to the door,

I said, if I don’t say anymore it won’t hurt anymore?

And you said, as I stood by the door you’d of kissed me for sure.

And I said, I knew on the way home that something was silent,

I knew on the way home that something inside went,

You couldn’t hide anymore what those feelings inside meant,

You didn’t tell me for another 3 months.

And by the time 8 months had gone,

So had you.
